At its core, it is about ensuring that your products achieve “deforestation-free” status so that they can continue to be traded within the EU in the future.

For this, you must check the agricultural land of the involved primary producers for actual deforestation risk for each production batch and then report the results to the EU information system.

The EU Deforestation Regulation affects all companies that import, place on the European market, or export products such as soy, palm oil, wood, coffee, cocoa, beef, or rubber. Certain derived products also fall under the EUDR.

For non-SMEs, the deadline for implementing the requirements is December 30, 2024. SMEs will follow starting in June 2025.
